The snow and ice may be melting, but residents are concerned that another storm is on its way.

Thanks to the Bay Ridge Center’s Meals on Wheels program, drivers are making sure that homebound residents have something to eat.

“It’s been really, really hectic,” said Angel Pabon, one of the drivers. “We’ve been running over hills and hills of snow and falling down sometimes.”

The program serves 600 meals daily to older adults in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Gravesend, Coney Island and Dyker Heights.

With more snow expected, the center doubled up on meals Thursday and Friday so residents have food over the weekend.

“You don’t know if they’re OK or not,” said Pabon. “There’s a lot of elderly [people] out there that are by themselves.”

The meal delivery is also designed to be a quick wellness check.

“Maybe they’re at the hospital or maybe they’re at the doctors, or maybe they’re home and they need help,” said Pabon.

It’s a huge help to residents like Patrick Lam, of Bay Ridge.

“I would not be able to go out because it’s really too cold,” said Lam.

“We must get it done!” said Pabon.
